1. 1 Problem Constraints ASP can be modeled as a job-shop scheduling problem with additional constraints. Jobs are represented by aircrafts and resources by parts of the T M A. An operation is the occupation of a resource by an aircraft, therefore the processing time of an operation corresponds to the time necessary to run/occupy a certain resource. Constraints implied by safety rules, typically regulating spatial or temporal security distances, hold for each pair of aircrafts moving in the T M A.
