Today we try to show more consideration for each other, but she is not really with me, and often goes against me. I don’t remember what we say to each other when there is an argument. Every time there’s a new story. In sharp contrast to her husband’s version, his wife describes him as a cheating and violent man. The atmosphere of terror, fear, and violence paralyzed the entire family, including herself: I wouldn’t go along with that [beatings].
