Es ist sehr auffällig, dass zentrale Kategorien rhetorischen Handelns und Planens bereits von Gorgias formuliert sind: Das Angemessene/ Passende, das Überzeugende, das Ethos des Redners, die Pathos-Einwirkung auf die Rezipienten, das Wahrscheinliche, die Wahrheitsproblematik.
