3. Lack of instructors. Another reason that writing is not taught in medical school is a lack of qualified instructors. Most physicians who are writing and editing medical articles and chapters learned to write and edit the hard wayby trial and error. 4. Composition under pressure and negligence. Competition to get published is often intense. Nowhere are deadlines more important than in medical publishing.
I was confused. So to make a point, I asked each resident to write on a piece of paper the percentage that "not infrequent" represents. They wrote 55%, 60%, 68%, and 75%.
