Other Employees Worry About Safety However, USPS employees' concerns were not confined to the Washington, DC, area. According to the October 27, 2001, Palm Beach (FL) Post, the American Postal Workers Union's Miami chapter went to court in late October to attempt to force the USPS to provide immediate medical testing for workers requesting it and to install safety equipment to detect and kill anthrax germs. , to 911 operators before he died of anthrax in October.
